Wondering

Hey I asked about something in a post a while back and they said it's not herpes related.. but I have a question.. since I got tested all my results came back negative accept hsv 1 which came out high igg 7.00 I forgot the number was high though.. you think it could be a fade positive ?? I had ebv a few years back could that make the test be positive? Should I take a different test besides the igg???

Should I be on meds?

Thank you for your time

HSV 2 IGG, TYPE SPECIFIC AB

Hsv 1 was 7.40 could it be a false positive?

Another thing is if it is positive... how do I be careful with my partner??

That's way over the 3.5 or less that's associated with false positives. All you can do is avoid contact when your actually having an outbreak. Hsv1 is very common and you may have had this since you were a small child.

Should I take meds?
Not until you test each individually

But I test both together and hsv 1 7.40 and hsv 2 negative..

What test would I take to test individually and why test individually?thanks for your time.

Sorry about that. I got the thresds mixed up. You can take meds if you like. Do you suspect this is oral or genital. Is this the first time testing?

Hsv 1 is oral I believe.. I have noticed throughout my life here in there cold sores in my mouth..

Daily antivirals help cut down on outbreaks amd viral shedding. If you do not get frequent outbreaks then i wouldn't take tbe meds
