I had a quick question about the IgM test, when I took my IgM test for HSV 1 and 2 It looked like it was a type specific test because both the numbers for HSV 1 and HSV 2 were split individually. I was just wondering why a test that supposedly isnt type specific would show up on lab reports looking like a specific test. I've told my story a few times at 5 months after protected sex with a stripper i took my first Herpes test with a family doctor and my results were positive for HSV 2 on an IgM test but negative on an IgG test. I then again took another IgG test a little over 6 months and it also came back negative. My doctor truly did believe that I had genital herpes because of the IgM test. I've never had any kinds of outbreaks on my genitals, but i did have burning/tingling, fever flu like symptoms, lower back pains, tingling fingers, headaches, and weird musquito bite lookin things one on my shuolder and one on my back which do not look like herpes but have not went away completely. Is there a chance that I may be one of the people who never serconvert?
