but if i have hsv1 i'll have to tell my future partners about this. i'm worried that it'll scare them away :(
1 out of every 2-3 adults has hsv1 in the US alone. It's very common. Not many of us make it to the old folks home without it.
if you believe the social stigma surrounding anything herpes or std related, that just reinforces those unwarranted labels. educate yourself instead of fearing something so very common.
i'm going to get tested for hsv1. but i'm really scared that the results will come back positive. I read online that alot of pepole get it while there children. I don't want hsv1 :( i want to live with the social stigma agaisnt it.
if you are going to engage in sexual activity, it's your responsibility to follow up with proper testing. why not get tested to know what your status is?
well, i'm not really worried from this encounter because i could have got it when i was in preschool or from one of my family members kissing me on the check when i was a kid. i'm just really worried that i have hsv1. but i never had a cold sore before so i don't think i have it.
you were seen and you were told it's jock itch.
if you had contracted hsv1 genitally, odds are you would've had a very "classic" ob and you wouldn't have to wonder if it was herpes or not - it would've been very obvious and very painful.
how do you calm down? you were seen and examined and were told it's not a std. if you can't let go of that worry, seek out a counselors advice to help you develop better coping skills for stressful situations. school will soon be back in session but usually the counselors at the school are available all year round when students need their help.
this was a very low risk encounter. it's not worth this much worry.
