Herpes Questions

Hello everyone! I have some questions about herpes. I have HSV1 orally so we rule out that I could possibly get GHSV1 by 99%.

First question: If I go down on a guy who has HSV2, then kiss him/make out with him, and the he goes down on me... is it possible to get genital herpes this way?

Second question: So as you read, I have oral HSV1. Is it possible to get oral HSV2 on top of that?

Virus that sheds needs to progress out of the skin and embed into another person's skin for any practical chance of infection. It dies on the surface of the shedded skin quite quickly. Further transfer of live virus is not feasible.

So he can't get some of the virus in his mouth from me kissing him after going down on him? It seems pretty possible... He went down on me immediately after... The virus could have gotten on my genitals I believe...

Yes, this was an actual situation. No protection. He did say he was on Valtrex. we attempted intercourse with protection but I chickened out once he put it in a bit... I hope I don't have anything...

Is this an actual situation? What prevention measures are being taken?

Answering your questions:
- No, the virus transfers from the infected site to the site of contact on another person. It will not transfer to a site on a person person or object then onto a second body site.
- Yes you can in very rare circumstances.
