Irritation from Valtrex?
Has anyone ever had an outbreak worsen or have more intense outbreaks while on Valtrex? Just wondering. Thanks.
Some folks do not tolerate valtrex for whatever reason. If you think you are having more ob's while on valtrex or "worse" ob's - the first thing I recommend is going to be seen when you have symptoms to make sure that it's only herpes going on. If you picked the right gender when you registered here then you are female and for us gals - many, many things can go on down yonder to further complicate our herpes/mimick herpes ob's. If your doctor determine's it's only herpes - then yes I totally agree with waringblender - try going off suppressive therapy completely or switch to acyclovir or famvir and see if either of them work better.

I've never had those symptoms with Valtrex, but some people report tingling sensations with Valtrex as if they are about to get an outbreak. You can switch to acyclovir if it bothers you.
