Is it?

For about 3 1/2 weeks I've been having issues with my vulva. It started off as itching. I shaved a day before I got the symptoms so I thought that's what it was. Also, I just found out that around the time I started itching my mom switched fabric softeners. I also have eczema (usually just get it right above my buttcrack or if I get a mosquito bite and scratch) Anyway, I'm sooo itchy, but some days it's not very itchy, it just burns. Or it's that "burning itch" sensation. Ice packs help temporarily, I've used neosporin plus pain (my doctor said it was ok as long as I wasn't putting it IN me). I've also used Vagisil, switched soaps, asked my mom that we don't use fabric softener anymore. But, I'll scratch to the point of bleeding, it hurts when I pee (my urethra doesn't hurt, it hurts when the urine gets on the open skin). Well now, I have small flesh colored bumps on my thighs near my vagina opening (similar to the look of hives), that slightly burn and I just assumed it was my eczema since it itched. It's always worse at night, I wake up every few hours, and it's also horrible when I wake up plus a couple hours. Additional Information: 23 years old, in a long term MONOGAMOUS relationship, there is NO discharge or weird smells, no "crusting", I suffer from migraines (hereditary), I'm overweight (I'm what people call a "BBW" I wear a size 26-28 and I'm around 5'6), I do have some stress/anxiety, I also have High Blood Pressure.

Are these symptoms herpes related or an allergic reaction of some sort. that my eczema  has interfered with and is causing it to slowly heal?

just make sure that herpes was part of your testing. typically when you ask for std testing, it's not the whole shebang as we assume it is.

glad you are feeling better :)

Oh and both my fiance and I have been tested and we're both clean. We've also haven't had intercourse since this started.

She said that since the Vagisil is "doing the trick" in helping the itch, I can continue with it. Though for the past 2 days, throughout the day, I'm not very itchy, I'll get an occasional itch that will go away if I keep my mind busy, but as I said, at night and when I wake up, it's the worst. Last night I soaked in an Aveeno Oatmeal Bath and it helped ease it a bit. Today when I showered I used the Dove Unscented Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar and it helped. I stopped the neosporin and just use "Pure Petroleum Jelly" as a skin protectant/soother. The bumps on my thighs have went away. I haven't shaved since this started, and since it's been about a month now it feels as if I'm "pulling the hair".  I also sleep with nothing on from the waist down and during the day I wear cotton shorts and "go commando."  It's starting to get quite hot over here and the heat usually triggers my eczema.

did your provider test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally when you were seen?

I'd stop with the neosporin. it isn't well tolerated in the genital area and this isn't a bacterial issue so no reason to use it anyways.  you don't want to be making things worse down yonder.

vagisil also isn't your best bet for the genital area for this issue either. if  your provider truly believes you have a vaginal dermatitis, they should've prescribed you a low dose topical steroid. another option is to just use a baby butt cream at this point a few times a day. it protects your skin and soothes it without all the chemicals that are in vagisil.

have you and your partner ever been tested for herpes before to know who has what? if not, definitely worth seeking out.  this is info that is important to know for your future in case of pregnancy so best to get it done while it's on your mind.

at this point, no more shaving your pubic area either until you know for sure what is going on.
