Is this Herpes, an STD, infection or nothing?

About 1 month ago exactly I engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse with a woman. Prior to that I had spent about 5 hours in a "pool party" then after that I took a nap, never showering, I say this because I am uncurcumcised and I always get random irritations because I am always working out and sweating.

A couple days after the encounter I began to experience irritation under my foreskin, but none like I've ever felt before. The irritation is directly below the rim of my penis (the corona), nowehere else. My foreskin is NOT inflammed or irritated. The area is red and it appears to be slightly swollen. This redness, irritation and swollen-ness has lasted aabout 3 weeks now. No pain, to discharge, no blisters, no bumps (except for my PPP). In fact, unless I pull my foreskin back to check, I cannot tell anything is wrong. I've spoken to the woman and she claims to be 100% clean and was insulted when i asked her.

Does this sound like something I should be worried about, its depressing me. I went to urgent care 3 weeks ago exactly when the redness started and was tested for EVERY STD, and they all came back negative. They also treated me for chlamydia and ghonorrea (as apart of procedue) However, I read it could take a while for antibodies to show up - so I'm still doubtful. I then followed up with my doctor 3 days later and he looked for 1 minute and said it was simply irritation, or some adverse reaction to something. He prescribed me Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Lotion, I've applied this for 1.5 weeks and there has been no change. It hasn't got worse OR better. I'm seeing my doctor again Monday and he told me to discontinue the lotion.

Any ideas? Does this sound like herpes? or some sort of fungus from the pool party/no shower/sex combo?

Many thanks in advance!

If you are going to test again, this would be too soon for accuracy.  You need to wait about four months from the encounter to be the most accurate.  How long have you now been off the creams?

Terri - thank you so much for your response. Yeah, there has been no change in at least the last 2 weeks, possibly 3. It seems to be more irritated after I shower and dry off (because I'm rubbing it with a towel maybe) but anything time I literally cannot feel a thing. No itching, no pain, not even tingling. When I pull my foreskin back I don't feel any irritation either. It seems to be only cosmetic. The localized redness and very minor swelling, also my entire penis seems to be warmer than usual (this could be my imagination but who knows at this point). So you're saying there is a chance it could be herpes and that the creams have keeping it active? It's been exactly a month now since the encounter that has me worried, would it be worth it to get another blood test done Monday?

I can understand why you are concerned.  However, it doesn't sound like herpes to me, no.  The antibody test is too early to be definitive, however.  Herpes would be unlikely to go on for three weeks with no change.  Normally, herpes would go through a cycle of getting worse, then better, but that doesn't sound like what is going on with you.  Also, the creams that you are applying would likely make herpes worse.  My only little concern here is that, depending upon the timing, is that there is a remote chance it could be herpes, and the steroid creams are keeping it active.  I just don't know.  Let's see what happens when you totally discontinue the creams.  Wish I could be more definitive about this.  I think it is really unlikely that is herpes, however.
