Is this a misdiagnosis?

I acquired what was presumed to be HSV in mid November.  Approximately a week after my first symptoms, I started to develop sores under my arm, down my legs, arms, on my face, back, neck, etc.  I was placed on 3,000mg of Valtrex a day for over a month and was taking Percocet for the pain.  I had active sores all over my body through the end of December and still have smaller but painful sores in the genital region and down my legs.

I was tested 25 days, 2 months, and 3 months after presumed exposure to the virus and all three times the lgg and lgm antibodies were not detected. (HIV was negative as well.)  I know that it is possible to never develop antibodies, but in conjunction with my atypical symptoms, I am wondering whether this is a misdiagnosis.

I have seen to Infectious disease doctors, OB/GYNs, and dermatologists, and none have come to a conclusion.  I would really like to know what is wrong with me.  Please respond if you have any advice or information regarding my case. Thank you.

I'd pay to consult with Terri Warren, our herpes expert here on medhelp.  It costs $15 to post to her on her forum.   hopefully she can offer more advice than I can at this point.

Yes, I'm taking 1,000mg of Valtrex daily.  And, as I mentioned before, I'm still getting small sores around the genital area and down my legs.

the tzanck smear isn't very accurate for diagnosing herpes.

are you still on herpes antivirals?

I tried to do this from my phone, so forgive me if it posts twice.

My dermatologist scraped a sore on my stomach, looked at it under a microscope, and determined that it was herpes.  Some of my doctors said that this is a fairly definitive diagnosis while others are unsure.

Also, about 10 days prior to my first symptoms, I engaged in sex with a new partner.

All other STD tests were negative, but I'm wondering whether this is even an STD at all.  I'm still very skeptical that this is herpes.

Thank you for your response

it would be incredibly unusual to have herpes lesions on that many body parts.

why did they think they were herpes related?
