Is this herpes?

Hi Doc, Im a male and a few weeks ago I started developing a circular painful red splotch on my left thigh just above my knee. Eventually the inside of my knees broke out into red, itchy oozing rashes.Other circular oozing spots appeared above my knees as well.  I also developed rashes and similar circular painful patches on my upper back, calves, back of my knees and ankles. They appear to be symmetrical, ie on both sides of my body.I have never unprotected sex, vaginal or oral. I saw my doctor and he seems to believe its herpes. He gave me a prescription for valtrex and took cultures. I am still waiting for the results. Does this sound like herpes? The valtrex has helped some but I have also been using elidel and anti bacterial ointment at the same time. I have also had moderate psoriasis for the past 9 years. I have never had sores on my face or groin area either. Your insight would be greatly appreciated

thanks!

You need to follow up on this with someone else. I totally agree with jessi - this doesn't sound like herpes.

Also this is not the doctor's forum. If you want their advice you have to pay for it.

This doesn't sound like herpes to me at all, especially if you've never had sex.

The only exception would be is if you are a wrestler.  They can get something called herpes gladitorium.

I'd make an appt with a dermatologist for further testing.

Also to add, I have not had any other symptoms such as painful urination or fever, I do feel a slight pain in my left buttocks but that could be paranoia.
