Thank you grace for your response. While I am working on the logistics of geeting my partner tested, I wanted your advice on the risk of hsv1 transmission genitally to my partner due to the one time brief cunnilingous i performed on her. Does such one time brief exposure result in transmission of HSV1 genitally (which I understand does not prefer the genital areas).
your partner would need tested for herpes to know what her hsv1 status is in order to make educated decisions about what precautions to take together for oral sex together.
correct, you are hsv1+ and hsv2-.
grace
Dear Grace..I appreciate your valuable advice on my test and the risk to my regular partner due to the one time brief cunnilingus I performed on her.
The results were meant to read as follows:
HSV-1 IgG: 5.73
HSV-2 IgG: 0.11
1.2 Positive
Dear Grace..I think I have some sensible results to share with you now. The results (17 weeks after my exposure) are the following:
HSV-1 IgG: 5.73 (1.2 Positive)
HSV-2 IgG: 0.11 (1.2 Positive)
From the results of this type specific test, Can I now assume that I am positive for HSV-1 and negative for HSV-2? Whether my positive HSV 1 is due to my with my current exposure or whether I had had it before.
I do not have any genital symptoms. I have no obvious cold sores now, though I had what I thought to be canker sores/lesion in my mouth since childhood. Last week, I had a swelling on my lower eye lid with a small white blister along the eye lash. This lasted for 2 days. Is this a symptom of oral/ocular HSV-1?
I perfomed brief oral sex on my regular partner last week, whose HSV status is not known. Assueming that my HSV-1 is oral, What are the chances that I could tannsmit HSV1 to her genitally from this brief encounter?
Pls help..I seem to be in a real mess..
Thank you very much Grace for all the advice you have given me. You have been really kind and helpful to me through out this episode. May god bless you for all the good work...
