Likelihood of HSV 1 vs. HSV 2 given my situation

So I posted the other day, and was advised to go have my weird bump/scab swabbed.  I did that this morning and the doctor wasn't able to say definitely yes or no in regards to this being a herpes sore. I should have definitive results back in a few days, including the type.

In the meantime, my mind is running wild.  I've read HSV 1 is much more mild when found on the genitals.  My situation is as such; I haven't had unprotected vaginal/anal sex in 10 years.  I have however had unprotected oral sex.  If this were in fact herpes, wouldn't it be very likely it was HSV 1 considering it was obtained from a partner's mouth?

Did you also have a blood test done at the time? If your last sexual exposure was more than 10 years ago, a blood test would be a much more reliable test than a swab, particularly if the sore had already scabbed over.

If the swab results are negative, I'd still recommend a type-specific IgG blood test to completely rule out herpes. Swabs are frequently falsely negative, particularly with recurrences vs initial infection, and particularly if the swab isnt' taken within the first couple of days of the sore forming.
