If you don’t know what type you have, be seen at a clinic or urgent care facility right away and get the sores swapped. A swab of an active lesions can tell you if it’s a HSV1 one or HSV two. Those symptoms of a yeast infection could very well have been part of an outbreak. If you have protected sex, transmission is a lot lower. If you had unprotected sex and you were in an active outbreak, transmission isn’t guaranteed but a definite possibility. I assume your partner knows your status? I think it’s really important that you get your HSV typed. I assume you’re not on any anti-viral medication? That reduces the risk of transmission as well. I would definitely have your lesions examined and PCR swab tested. If that’s not an option, then an HSB blood test, an IgG, would be able to give some clarity.
