Lesion on back

I was diagnosed with HSV2 in January 2011, I have had one outbreak genitally since. I have had lesions however, first on my right buttock, which I read was normal. Then I had one on my arm, didn't think anything of it, and now one on my back. They are small, all look the same and go away after a week. Is this something I should get retested, or do others have the same experience?

Dr said the very small, but EXTREMELY painful spot on my back is herpes.  the pain seems worse at night. Medicene Zovirax cream and oral Valtrex has not helped much, tho only been a week. Could this be something different? thanks,

they did testing on all these or just visually said yes they are all herpes?
make sure they are proving herpes with lesion cultures!

I was originally diagnosed by a culture test almost a year ago. I did end up going to the doctor, and they confirmed that it was herpes and that depending on the person, they could show up anywhere.

I also, was getting over a yeast infection and stomach flu, giving me an obviously weaker immune system.

I will state however, that this has been the smallest and quickest to heal. Which was great.

Thanks for your help!

genital herpes can cause lesions on the buttocks - that is fairly common. Getting lesions on the arm also would be unusual though.

at this point, be seen every single time you have symptoms anywhere and get them looked at. if they suspect they are herpes, make sure they do a lesion culture and prove it. Also a MRSA culture might not be a bad idea either to make sure you don't have a bacterial skin infection you are spreading around.

how were you originally diagnosed as having genital herpes?
