Next time you have the rash or outbreak, have it swabbed and they can do a PCR test to see if this is actually a HSV2 outbreak or unrelated.
HSV2 results can be devastating...I go for a biokit confirm on mine tomorrow morning; I know exactly what you're feeling.
It just isn't known. Some people do not shed, some from one region, others more widespread.
Having intercourse during the time of an outbreak, which is not in the "genital" area, can it still be transmitted to another provided that the infected area on butt cheek is covered? Just curious...
Yep that's it. It is not overly common, but yes outbreaks can happen there and that sounds exactly like them.
Thank you so much for replying! Size range from nickle to a lil smaller than a quarter (clusters of blisters). A culture test was done.
Only an initial outbreak occurs at the site of exposure and can spread from there.
Recurrent outbreaks in theory can occur most anywhere where the genital nerve structure reaches and this includes your butt. It includes anywhere that is marked out roughly by a pair of boxer shorts.
A rash doesn't sound so much like herpes. How big a rash are we talking about? recurrent outbreaks are usually quite a small patch.
