Low positive hsv2
So I recently got a std panel done and my obgyn told me I was hsv2 positive my range was hsv2 = 2.32 I have read it could be a false positive since its consider a low positive? I was tested two weeks ago by lab corp my obgyn didn't explain or even tell me if I should do further testing or if I should be on medication. My question is can it be a false positive? they didn't test for hsv1 only std and hsv2 so I habe no idea what my hsv1 range is die to I am a lesbian I was also wondering of I should wait the 16 weeks before getting the western blot test or am I safe to get the western blot test now due to I have no sexual relation with men? It does not add it to how I could be positive with hsv2 I have no put breaks what so ever and I'm in a same sex relationships going on 7 uears can this possibly be a false positive? Yes it surely can be a false positive. Anything under a 3.5 is suspect. Retest for hsv1 and 2 in a few weeks.

It was a igg but not sure if it was a elisa or herpeselcet test but I was concerned due to I am a lesbian an all my test came back negative and it was weird because they only tested me for hsv2 and did not test for hsv1 I thought that was a little weired so I read about the western blot because I am scared and hopeing its a false positive...
You can absolutely seek out the wester blot. Hsv2 can be spread sharing bedroom toys. That being said you have a little better than 50/50 chance of being a false positive.
So thinh is we do not use bedroom toys or we dont use any exotic toys so 50/50 chance give me a little relief my next question I have ordered the western blot test waiting for it in the mail I read to wait 16weeks after last intercourse but due to me being a lesbian does that apply to me before testing with the western blot???
I would do the western blot now. No real need to wait.

You're welcome. I'm betting on this being a false positive. Contracting hsv2 without intercourse isn't very realistic. I wish you the best of luck and please keep me posted.
