Lupus and Herpes

My 15 yr old daughter was diagnosed with herpes HGG 2.51 in December even though she is adamant there had been no sexual contact. She said her boyfriend had touched her once, which I believe. She was very scared about what was wrong with her, she knew she had to tell the absolute truth. Her boyfriend does get cold sores so it is assumed that is why she got the virus...Now she has many issues going on and looking back at the last 12 months it looks like she may have Lupus. My question is-Could she have had vaginal lesions from Lupus in December instead of Herpes? Does Lupus ever give a false positive for Herpes? Has anyone ever dealt with this issue?

Lupus is an inflamatory disease where the bodies immune system attacks its own organs. The most common symptom is unfolded butterfly wings on the cheeks.
Tests for hsv look for antibodies for hsv, so lupus would not interfer with this test.

Hi and welcome. This not a lupus forum but herpes. Her blood test that showed positive for hsv2 falls into the false positive range and since she not sexually active its undoubedly a false positive. Re test to confirm.
Her boyfriends herpes is also undoubetly hsv1 not 2 but youd need to confirm this. Can she contract hsv2 genital from touching? No she cannot.
