Marina and Herpes

I definitely think Marina Coil and Herpes are connected .I have suffered from genital herpes for years and when my periods became irregular and heavy I had a marina fitted. I have had more herpes than ever so I went on medication to help the herpes (Aciclovir) .As I already take a strong medication for psoriasis I am wary about extra problems which can occur in my case the liver in both medications. I had made the conscious decision about the coil making my herpes more frequent but when I asked the doctors they don't think there is a connection. While taking the Aciclovir I had no sores however now I have come off the tablets I have had a sore almost every week .I am seriously considering taking the coil out although I could get heavy periods again feel able to cope with those than the herpes and the awful side effects it gives me.

Thank you for clarfiing the point. Researching OB trigger the IUD never came up but with some futher research after reading your response i do agree with you that any irritation of the genital area can trigger an ob.

I don't believe it is helpful to say that there is doubt to the connection between the Mirena Coil and obs. You say that obs are caused by stress and "other things", well one of those things may well be hormonal and physiological changes brought about by the Mirena. I have a Mirena and my first symptoms varied from mood swings, depression, prolonged heavy menses, acne and the list goes on if you research others side effects felt by Mirena. These complaints have been dismissed by obvious parties but there are many many women with identical complaints. Symptoms felt from Mirena are among those associated with triggers for ghsv2 outbreaks. Sometimes we should carefully consider our answers before we reply.

Hi, i dont see how and IUD and herpes outbreaks are connected. Studies done on outbreak causes vary from stress to other things.
