Medicine

A doctor thought i might have it just by giving a quick look. He gave me valacyclovir 2 weeks ago to take 3 times a day for 7 days. I took all the medicine and didnt see any difference its still the same now. Just small white bumps with no sores or blistering or scabbing. If it was herpes how fast would the medicine help to make a difference or me noticing a difference? Im starting to think it might not be herpes since he gave me medicine 2 weeks ago and its the same looking. Opinions?

I'm not sure what you want me to say about this.  A physical exam by a good clinician can clear up your confusion.

This is my final post on this thread.

I think these bumps showed up within a day or two after contact if i can remember correctly. I just noticed a new bump of the same kind in a different location then the other ones. Is this an indication of anything? The bumps are still the same with no change

Usually it takes a little while to show up, maybe as short as a week?  It can spread.  Yes.

Its still the same thing after 5 weeks so im thinking maybe mollusucum. How quickly does that show up after contact. And does it spread to other parts if i touch it?

I would say that symptoms lasting 4 weeks without changing in any way does not sound like herpes to me, correct.

Is it pretty safe to say it cant be herpes bumps if they have stayed the same for close to 4 weeks now?

I guess I shouldn't rule out herpes even though I don't have the symptoms and it's the same looking bumps after over 3 weeks until I get tested right? Because herpes is still what's stuck in my mind. I also thought herpes was like the only type of thing that would show up right after sexual contact compared to other things.

Multiple white bumps.  I am guessing that they are either hair follicles or mollusucum.  Can't know for sure.

It's multiple white bumps. I did but nothing really looks like it the internet is full of extreme pictures . Could it be warts? I'm at school and don't have a very reliable place to get looked at but having this present for so long has me worried about what it could possibly be.

No, your symptoms sound nothing at all like herpes.  Herpes would definitely change its presentation after 3 weeks, it never just would stay a white bump.  Did you look on the internet for the pictures I asked you to look up?

On the penis. They are firm with like a white dot in the center. They have never changed since ive seen them and they also dont cause any discomfort. I would never know they were there if i couldn't see them. If valacyclovir didn't do anything does that mean it cant be herpes? Its been 3 weeks now with no change whatsoever. Are there herpes cases where the bumps never turn to blisters, have fluid, or scab over? If it was herpes how long would it take to clear up?

I'm wondering if they are hair follicles?  Or perhaps molluscum contagiosum?  Take a look a pictures of those on the internet.  They certain don't sound like herpes to me.  I also don't know what genital are they are in - penis, pubic hair?

They are on my genital area. More firm then anything but you can barely feel them. You cant squeeze them, nothing comes out because they dont look like blisters or have anything in them. They arent uncomfortable, irritated, itchy, painful or changed at all since seeing them. I would of never thought about herpes by just looking at them. But a doctor said it might be and gave me herpes antiviral medication so it has me worried. But i took the medicine for 7days and it did nothing. Its now been over 2 weeks and looks the same so now i am kind of questioning the doctor since all he did was give a quick look and the medicine did nothing

Within two weeks of getting first herpes lesions, you would definitely notice a change in the bumps.  They would go from being water blisters to ulcers to scabs.  They would be tender or uncomfortable, frequently.

Can you describe in more detail the white bumps?  Are they firm to the touch?  Where are they on your body?  If you tried to squeeze one, would something come out?
