Herpes or over-thinking?

So, 2 weeks ago I received unprotected oral sex and made out with someone. I also fingered her. About 5 days ago I noticed two small red, ingrown hair-like spots just above the base of my penis. They have remained red and unchanged over those 5 days. They do not appear anything like the clear, fluid filled blisters pictured often and they don't appear like the open, white/yellow ulcers either. They are just red and are not painful to the touch at all. There is a hair coming out of one of them and I have had ingrown hairs in the area before.

Around the same time the two red bumps appeared I had some swollen lymph nodes and it hurt when I sneezed, but that passed in about 24 hours. I feel like I may have had some itching and tingling but it's been very mild, to the point it might be psychosomatic because I've been so worried.

I visited the Dr and based on my description of events and her examination of the red bumps (brief as it was) she felt it wasn't herpes. She did let me get a blood test, which I did this morning and am now awaiting the results.

So, couple of questions:

1) does this seem like it could be herpes?
2) if so, would it be hsv1 since it came from her mouth? Or could she have hsv2 and pass it on to me via her mouth?

Thanks to any and all for any help, advice, or thoughts.

1. It's possible yes.

2. Herpes lesions progress quickly. A day or so.

You can take a neg at that time as you didn't have hsv before this.

If you had swollen lymph nodes you'd know it. If you had a primary hsv1 outbreak... you'd know it. Translation... yes you are way over thinking this.

wanted to follow up since it's been a few weeks and get your opinion on things:

- The two lesions that first appeared about 10 days after the encounter I'm worried about are still there. 1 remains almost completely unchanged and the other has decreased somewhat in size, color (pinkish), and protrusion.

- Every time I feel like I have convinced myself that this isn't Herpes, something draws me back to that thought.

- Today I began to feel some itchiness and mild irritation under my penis near my scrotum (the lesions are on top where my shaft meets my pubic area). The area is red and slightly inflamed.

- Could this be part of an ongoing initial outbreak (37 days after initial encounter)?

- Could this be a recurrent outbreak in a different location (still largely hairy area)?

- Assuming the other lesions are atypical herpes symptoms, should it be assumed that other outbreaks would also be atypical?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. I still keep hoping that this is all genitally focused anxiety mixed with some other non-herpes symptoms.

Ok, thanks for the quick answer. I really don't know what swollen glands in the groin feel like, but I am slightly sensitive in that area, but again could just be finding symptoms to match the potential infection.

A few follow up questions if you don't mind:

1) is it possible to get an oral infection and a genital infection from my encounter?

2) is there a time period i should feel better about it if the red bumps don't change or others don't appear?

3) from reading other threads, it appears that there's a good chance that the blood test won't be conclusive either way. Is there anything I can or should take from it?

1. It absolutely does not sound like herpes. The bumps sound like ingrowns as herpes lesions don't have hair coming from them. Tbe swollen lymph nodes would be in the groin. Not neck area.

2.hsv2 is rarely an oral infection. When it is it doesn't shed much at all. Around 1% of days and isnt very potent. So you can rule out hsv2.
