More than Herpes or severe case?

Currently 40,, diagnosed with hsv 2 over 15 years ago.  About 7 years ago, regrettably had unprotected oral sex, and since then have had multple times per year with general sore throat, ear pain, headaches, flu like symptoms, and nver have had any hsv lesions outside of my mouth.  Have had "ulcers" in the mouth, cheek area.  This year alone, have had "autoimmune" type issues with eyes, now a mild hearing loss.   Could there be a serious HSV infection that is causing what looks like autoimmune but is not?  I was on valtrex for a while, did well, went off  for a year to get a break, and have just recently begun it again..  Since beginning one week ago, my eyes actually look clearer....I'm  waiting to see if some of the "myalgias" get better too being back on it.  I'm getting worried and wondering if I should see an infectious disease doctor instead of just my gyn?

This doesn't sound like it's a herpes related issue.

sore throats and ear pain can be allergies or even gerd ( reflux ).  An ENT work up would be a good next step for that part.

autoimmune issues can cause a lot of that all over aches pains too. I assume you are seeing a rheumatologist about that part?
