Natrol and HSV1

The supplement Natrol, that is what magic johnson supposedly takes for his hiv. And his hiv is not even detectable in tests anymore. Could taking an immune enhancer, help fight, prevent, hide, hsv1?

Actually there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason for recurrences and shedding in general. Some links between bv and birth control pills for increased shedding for us gals but that's about all they've found so far. Immune boosters in general don't seem to make a difference either in shedding which is far more important than the number of ob's if you are in a discordant relationship.  if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant then the vitamins are a good idea. If you are just taking them to try to prevent ob's, you are just giving yourself expensive urine for the most part.

I think once you are infected with any std, it makes you realize what you should've been doing all along as far as talking to partners about std's, getting tested and using barrier protection for sexual activity.  This board would be a heck of a lot less busy if everyone was doing this :)

Taking care of yourself is always a good thing!  Mom knew what she was saying when she said to eat your vegetables. Of course I still don't like much vegetables myself but I"ve learned to eat healthier in general with what I do like :)

i've read that the number of out breaks you have may be determined by how well your immune system is. Ive started taking prenatal vitamins.

on another note, after my diagnosis, i immediately thought, "who would ever date me again?" "who would ever want to have kids with me, with the risk of being infected?"

I'm trying to see this as a blessing in disguised. im taking better care of myself, i am much more aware and selective with who i will be with. and if someone is okay with my genital hsv 1 infection, then they must really care about me.

we will be okay
