Need for testing?

Hello,

I am a 35 year old woman.  Until recently I was dating a guy who has genital herpes.  Before he told me that he has herpes, I gave him unprotected oral sex ("blow job") on two occasions.  On one occasion he masturbated himself for about 30 seconds before touching my vagina with the hand that he used to touch himself.  I am wondering what my risk level is and if I should get tested to see if I have contacted herpes.  I have had no symptoms to date.

Thanks for your help.

this is pretty much no risk at all for you. you are unlikely to contract hsv2 orally from performing oral on him. Mutual masturbation is not a risk either.

are you going to continue to have a relationship with this fellow? if so we will gladly give you info on how to best protect yourself from his hsv2 :)

Low risk when is no outbreak but possible of virall shedding, where the virus live on the skin but no outbreak. So your encounter envoled unprotected oral sex but you dont have any symptoms, new infection shows symptoms after 2-3 weeks but some people its take more. Its very unlike to pass by his hand to your vagina. I guess if you infected you may have symptoms on your mouth/lips not on your genital. Take IGG herpes test after 3 months of your encounter.

I should mention that to my knowledge he did not have an outbreak at the times of these encounters.
