Negative HSV 1 and 2 Combo. Unequivocal HSV1 lgg. What should I do?
I had no symptoms just got out of a relationship and wanted to be screened for everything. My results came back as everything negative expect hsv1 with a unequivocal lgg value of 0.91 for labcorp. This was in July. I have never had a cold sore but sometimes have bumps close to my mouth which may be due to my bad acne and facial hair as a women. The bumps don't hurt or get big and just disappear. Should I retest? I also have hidradenitis suppurativa which causes break outs on my face. Please help
Equivocal is not positive so just retest in a few weeks. These results are somewhat common. Hsv1 igg blood tests are not great and can actually miss up to 30% of infections.
