New treatment for herpes Whitlow

I have been diagnosed with herpes whitlow in my right ring finger...it is a very insidius disease as it is prone to secondary infections and is very costly due to loss of work and topical and oral treatments.Today I start suppression therapy on Valtrex and Zovirax cream if needed. In the last two years I've had at least ten outbreaks and it is really getting me down.

Is there any new treatments being researched for this disease?

I would think that there would be laser, infrared or any such treatment that may work.

It is getting to the point where amputation would be a blessing or maybe debridement...but I know that is usually for dead tissue.

Bless your heart. I do hope your condition improves. Could you, please, read my post and tell me if it sounds similar to what to experience when you have an outbreak?

All the best,
