It May be Possible to Test Negative for HSV 1 and HSV 2 (herpes 1 & 2)
Patients that utilized the photo therapy protocol and an herbal cleanse have reported negative ELISA testing for HSV 1 (oral herpes) and HSV 2 (genital herpes). Doctors are seeking patients to assist in the conduct of double blind studies for this new therapy.
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) October 8, 2007 -- Phototherapy has had several recent patients report that they have tested negative for HSV 1 (oral herpes) and HSV 2 (genital herpes) with a standard ELISA blood test after utilizing the latest protocol and herbal cleanse. As a result, phototherapy would like to announce its further investigations and studies on these findings.
In October of 2006 phototherapy began testing their newest herpes treatments with a new protocol involving herbal cleansing to assist in treating HSV 1 and HSV 2 conditions on several patients. These patients were directed to administer Phototherapy's newest herpes treatment protocol for their outbreaks along with an herbal cleanse. One week after administration of the newest herpes treatments protocol they were given a special blend of herbs which consists of six (6) potent and effective herbal formulas. This herbal regime contained a blood formula, an immune support formula, a bio-flavanoid, an antiviral formula, an anti-parasitic formula and an intestinal-colon formula which was administered for three weeks. One month later the patients were directed to return to their testing laboratory for a follow up ELISA to determine the presence of antibodies for HSV 1 (oral herpes) and HSV 2 (genital herpes) in their blood sample.
Thus far every patient that has followed the protocol has received a negative blood test for HSV 1 (oral herpes) and HSV 2 (genital herpes). Phototherapy intends to do a small placebo controlled, double blind clinical to verify the above results. These clinical results will be posted on phototherapy web site just as soon as they are completed. Phototherapy invites the public to participate in conducting these studies.
Perhaps there may be an organic method to treat HSV 1 and HSV 2 that has caused so much anguish in people's lives. Only time and more studies can confirm these preliminary reported results. Doctors at phototherapy are looking to conduct double bind studies and need your help.
you need to be a bit more specific than that. There are many different kinds of light therapy out there though none of them have been shown to be effective for genital herpes that I"m aware of. I know there is one form of laser therapy that was shown to be helpful for oral herpes but it was a pretty small study and last I knew they were waiting to conduct it on larger groups.

have you heard anything about this phototherapy?
I din't hijack..... Im new to this so I just tried my best to figure this thing out.
you should've started your own thread - not hijacked this one.
The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com has terrific info on herpes and some suggestions for pain relief while waiting for lesions to heal. If you've not been yet properly diagnosed as having herpes - you should see your provider asap for proper evaluation and testing.

hey i don't have any medication and im having a outbreak and it's painful what should I do?
Has anyone on these forums NEVER have any outbreaks?
One of the things we recommend highly here on this forum is that if you are testing + but assume you haven't had symptoms of herpes that you confirm your infection with additional testing. I encourage you to see if you can find a herpes biokit hsv2 igg provider near you http://www.biokitusa.com/hsv_introduction.htm is their website to contact them to see if anyone near you offers it or you can have your provider send off a herpes WB blood test. If the lab your provider uses doesn't report back with numeric results, it's hard for us to ascertain if it's a true positive or a false positive which is why additional testing is necessary.

Do they give low postitive results or does it just come positive or negative only?
The immunoblot is as accurate as the elisa, and type specific. To help determine if this is a false positive, you need another test.
Aj
Also, it was type specific...or so i was told...I was told that i was negative for 1 but positive for 2
How accurate is the the immunoblot?
There is a herpeselect test called the immunoblot that will only return a positive or negative. Ask for the herpeselect or captia elisa to get the numerical result.

Go back and ask that they perform a type specific blood test looking at both types, and the results should come with number scores for each type. Misinterpretation of test results is common. You need to make sure you have HSV2 before you simply assume that you have it. Especially with no symptoms, it's essential to have the correct blood testing done.
well, i just spoke with my doctor and she said they don't come in numbers...it's just a positive or negative
it was just a positive...no numeric ranges
Just another blood test.
Can you get the results from your first one and post them here? We can help sort all this out.

I have not had confirmatory testing...what does that involve?
You don't know exactly when. That's the problem. But ghsv2 sheds about 15-20% of days/year, at most, so chances are much better that you wouldn't be shedding.
Have you had confirmatory testing?
Also, its really helpful to keep all your posts in one thread. Please read the posting tips for more info on this.
