Non specific IgG

Hi Grace and MistakeGuy,

I was wondering if you could help me out?  I have had two bioelisa type specific IgG tests come back negative at 8 and 12 weeks post encounter.  However, I had a positive nonspecific IgG test at 10 weeks, and have been able to confirm the numbers for this.

My question is which should I believe?  I understand that nonspecific testing is not helpful in discerning Type 1 or 2, but what are the chances that this is a false positive?  I don't have the numbers for this nonspecific test, and the clinic has been unable to get them for me.  Hence, I am sorta unsure as to what I should believe....I want to believe the type specific tests, but am scared that I may be potentially infectious to others, and I don't want to spread herpes!

Many thanks,
P.
