I was recently on vacation in a very dry environment and developed pretty chapped lips and a "crack" in the right corner of my mouth. I chalked it up to the weather and lack of sleep / hydration. I have now returned home (about 4 days later) and my lips have cleared up with the exception of the corner crack and I have also developed what I would describe as a small whitehead a half inch or so down from the crack, on my lower lip just below the "rosy" part.
I did not have any sexual contact on the trip but did share some cigarettes / drinks with a couple of random people. I've never had a cold sore in my life and am getting worried that this might be HSV 1. Since I started paying attention to it about 24 hours ago, neither seems to have changed, but the crack appears as about a 3-5 mm white line in the corner of my mouth and i can definitely feel it when I open my mouth. I've been applying chapstick to try and keep it moisturized and drinking more water than usual. Someone told me if your lip corner cracks on only one side it's probably Herpes which I guess made me worried, hence my coming here for some rational takes :)
Any advice appreciated,
