Oral hsv 2 question

Could someone give me a general overview of oral hsv symptoms and when they show up?

I've had a sore throat, mild headache, and white puss on tonsils for two days now, but with no sores or lesions or tingling etc.

I want to know if this is potbetially an outbreak?

Thank you for any answers!

An STI/STD would be most unlikely, however if there was ejaculation in the mouth (assuming a male) you may consider asking the doctor to swab for bacterial STIs.

I take it you do not know this partner's status regarding HSV; note the incidence of HSV2 with males is lower than for females and for some demographics the incidence is below 5%.

Last Saturday I engaged in unprotected oral sex. It is a new partner and I'm worrying the coincidence of onset of symptoms is due to him passing me an std.

No that does not sound like anything herpes related at all. It simply does not cause these sorts of symptoms.

Do you have any reason to suspect you were exposed to HSV in the week preceding these symptoms?
