Oral sex with HSV2 woman

I am tearing myself to pieces at present over a couple of stupid incidents I regret bitterly. I had mutual Oral sex with a woman nearly 3 years ago. A few weeks ago there was a similar occasion with the same person but this time it was only very brief and only her on me.
I have since discovered she had an outbreak of genital herpes some years ago. Although I haven't had any 'typical' symptoms (blisters etc) I do sometimes get itching, very slight burning sensation and the need to urinate often.
I am becoming ill with worry over the possible break-up of my wonderful family due to my incredible stupidity. The doctor has seen me recently and thinks the chances are remote and I should try not to worry but I am so scared of even the slightest possibilty. I am unsure whether any tests can categorically prove if I have or have not got it. I know they will show HSV1 as both myself and my wife have had the occasional cold sore for years.
I guess what I'm looking for is advice and maybe a little hope to stop me from spiralling further into despair.

Thanks for your comments they have made me feel a little more hopeful, I have read so much on the subject that I no longer know what to believe. You're right I do feel incredibly guilty about being unfaithful and maybe I'm sort of punishing myself, problem is I don't know how I can hope to 'get back to normal' without knowing for sure. Maybe in time the fear will subside. Thanks again.

Wow you really are spinning.

You're fine. Let it go. If you can't let it go, get therapy. You obviously feel guilty about stepping out on wifey. If that's the case, address THAT issue because you don't have herpes from the encounters you described. Yikes.
