Paranoid About Risk of Genital Herpes

Hi! I was hoping that someone could help me stop being so paranoid in regards to this. (A little background on why I'm so paranoid, one of my closest friends just found out she is hsv2 positive without ever having symptoms or being sexually involved with someone who has visible symptoms, so I get more freaked out than I used to in my own personal life.) Anyway, I recently got a massage from a guy I've been dating. We were both naked as he was giving me the massage and occasionally his penis would be on the skin of my thighs or buttocks as he massaged my back. No sexual intercourse. I'm not sure of his hsv status but I have hsv-1 (a cold sore like once a year or so). Everything that I read up on when researching was that skin to skin contact is enough for someone to contract it. But then I've seen conflicting statements say there must be friction and a warm, moist location. Is that true? If he does have hsv, was this a low risk encounter? Thanks for the information!

It takes friction to massage the virus into the skin. Yor exposure was a zero risk event. I understand your concerns but hsv is not a super contagious infection. Practice safe sex and your chances of contracting hsv2 are very very small.
Hope this helps

Thanks for answering my question! And would the same be true if you cuddle naked with someone who may or may not have hsv2? That simple skin to skin contact of just laying there wouldn't be an exposure risk? Thanks again!
