Yes. Thank you for your response.
Best regards.
This really doesn't sound like it's herpes to be honest. He should get a herpes lesion culture done though if it's been more than a few days the chances of it being negative are pretty high. The only other option is to repeat his blood test in a few months.
The valtrex and transmission study published in the NEJM in 2004 showed that in the partners who's hsv2+ partners were on suppressive therapy contracted hsv2, they were more likely to have asymptomatic infections. I don't recall any info about the symptoms in folks who weren't asymptomatic being "milder" though. There were so few couples who transmitted the virus in the study that it's hard to tell what "average" experiences would be. Hope that makes sense what I"m trying to say?

So in other words, the 2 of you are "diagnosing" him visually? That doesn't sound very smart.
Have him get the lesions looked at and cultured before jumping to the conclusion that it is related to herpes.
He was negative for the IgG blood test, one was done approx. 4-6 weeks ago. No lesion culture done. As of today they are only several red dots on the head of his penis and the small place with the dry skin around it just below. I thought that I had read somewhere about the valtrex affecting effects of a primary outbreak of someone who's hsv positive partner is taking it.
Thanks for your quick reply.
Has he been seen yet? Has he had a lesion culture done at all? did he also have a baseline herpes igg blood test done?
