Likelihood of being infected with Herpes?

8 days ago ago today, I performed oral sex on woman who didn't tell me till after the fact that she has genital herpes. She has had genital herpes for 25 yrs and takes medicine daily for it, she has not had an outbreak in about 7 yrs. There was no genital to genital touching but I did stimulate her vagina with my fingers and a short while later touched my own penis.  She then performed oral sex on me for just a few minutes, with no visible sores on her lips....She said she has never past the virus to anyone this way!!  When asked, she told me she had no sores in her mouth either.

With this being said, what are the likelihood that I been infected with genital herpes? I do not have symptoms on my penis at all! I do have a few really tiny bumps on my lip however, but it feels more like chapped lips, with some tingling but nothing else.....I was recently in the tanning bed, could this be sunburn perhaps on my lip???

I have been so bothered by this that I have put multiple types of oitments on my lips, constantly touching my lips, looking in the mirror...Ive actually become obsessed , it seems as though Im constantly looking at my lips. I have actually had a 1 or 2 cold sores in the past, but none in like 20  years, could my obsession actually be bringing it back out?

Again, after 8 days, no symptoms on my penis....but I do feel some soreness in my inner thighs, but I don't know if that's from the gym, riding my four wheeler or golfing for the first time in over 4 years (alot of leg muscles used)

Please help, Im a mess.

Since you already have HSV 1 orally, I think the chances of you getting symptomatic HSV 2 in the mouth is very low.  In addition, a person who has been infected for 25 years AND is on suppression, is very unlikely to transmit virus to a sex partner.  Also, HSV 2 really doesn't like the oral area.  We rarely see HSV 2 orally, though we do sometimes see it as a first infection in addition to genital infection (someone gives oral sex to and has intercourse with the same person).  I am really not at all worried about this is your situation.

By the way I am not an expert by any means, I didn't realize but I shouldn't be responding in the expert forum.

Her genital herpes would not have any effect on you if your genitals did not have any contact. If you have had cold sores before, you already have hsv-1 along with over 80% of the population. If you get another cold sore in your mouth it doesn't mean anything about your genitals.

It sounds like you are worried about the possibility of her also having cold sores in the mouth which could have spread to your penis during oral sex. Think about this though, MOST people have that, and it wouldn't be any more risk than any other time you received oral sex from anyone else. The fact that she has genital herpes is completely separate and irrelevant. It is actually helps because she takes daily anti-viral medication.
