Please help oral herpes or canker sore?

I recently shared a drink with someone who may be hsv1 positive. I was on vacation in a remote location so I didn't practice as good oral hygene as I should of and felt like my lips and gums were resting on plaque.  I also bit my lip and cheek the same night. A couple of days later I had what I believe to be canker sores on my lip and cheek. I went to a health center because my doctor can't see me until next week and she said it is a 50/50 chance it's herpes or a cold sore but wouldn't do a swab because the clinic doesn't determine them to be stds. It was never a blister and only appeared on the inside of my lip. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated as I still have a week to see my doctor

I understand. Ok. The odds of all of this happening is slim to none and much closer to none. I do not believe those were cold sores. Nothing you describe sounds like them. So i don't think you spread what you don't have

Yes I was tested 3 weeks ago and it was negative but I feel like the potential cold sore could of been transmitted

Have you ever been tested for hsv? If not i would get an igg (no igm even if dr insists. They are very unreliable and falsepositives are common. Thus way you have a base line

I was also wondering your thoughts on if I touched my potential cold sore and then touched my genital area on accident what the likelihood of transmission to be? I have recurrently yeast infections that produce redness around the inner labia where the bartholins duct is and there was a a painful slightly red fleshy colored spot that hurt when I touched it. Previously my doctor said you can have irritation from the yeast leaving the vaginal canal and causing the irritation and I have since had my period and didn't notice right away so I think the blood may have irritated the spot further. It has been going away and doesn't hurt as much and doesn't hurt when I urinate it actually feels better to have it be wetted. Does this sound like it could be herpes?

8 days is way to soon. 12 weeks is the mark but i don't recommend testing in your case. The odds are to low, they were in a very unusual (for hsv) spot and they went away in 4 days. All point to not being hsv. Hsv lesions usually take a few weeks. Not 4 days. It likely wouldn't spread. However this isn't hsv so it doesn't matter.

I plan to get a blood test for hsv1 how acurate do you determine it to be when it is 8 days post exposure? I can't have my doctor swab it because after 4 days it disappeared. I didnt have any pain associated with it and treated it with alum like a normal canker sore. I had put lip aquaphor on my lips and read after that touching the sore and other parts of your mouth and the infection would spread and it didnt.

It would be unusual for a cold sore to be inside the lip area. Tbe odds of contracting hsv from sharing a drink is incredibly low. I would be very surprised if this is indeed hsv1
