Ok, sorry to keep on on here but I don't know who else to ask these questions to. I just wasn't sure that I should assume its negative since my gyn and physician are both divided, one says yes...one says probably not. But since I've never had traditional "symptoms" and there's no way to do further work up... I'm gonna assume I don't and let it go...Thanks
As I already said, I wouldn't bother with any more testing. should you get a return of symptoms, be seen promptly for further work up.
Hello Grace,
Ugh. So I'm having difficulties getting a phone consult with Terri. Last month after I wrote on here I decided to get ALL the test results so that I could discuss them with her.
All in all I've been tested 3 times.
My first one was the one where I had a positive IgM and negative IgG
My second and third (at 4 months past exposure) came back negative.. no IgM done.. I posted my third test results above...
My question is my second results show a numerical value of:
Type 1 IgG .08
Type 2 IgG .09
My third test showed .36 for type 2. I don't think that's significant is it? A negative is a negative is a negative right? Or does it matter that it has gone up?
I'm going to get tested 6 months past just to be sure and just put this behind me at that point.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, I called and scheduled a phone consult for tomorrow afternoon.
Her website unfortunately doesn't recommend a provider in my area but I hope she can answer some questions and tell me what I can do to know 100% what's going on.
Thank you again. Without this website I would have gone absolutely barking mad with frustration.
OK, thank you for your response. This is just so frustrating. My doctors act like I'M the one who is crazy! Ya! I feel crazy! I haven't received any solid answers from my gynecologist or my regular practitioner. I just keep getting told to retest and that it will develop eventually. I just want to be able to know definitively and be able to focus on healing emotionally and mentally from what happened.
Thank you again. I'm going to call Terri Warren's practice and see if they can recommend a GOOD doctor here or give me advice via online/phone.
your oral symptoms could've been any number of viruses and your providers are doing you a disservice by focusing solely on herpes as a cause.
you weren't really at risk for hsv2 from the encounter you had ( skin to skin contact can transmit it but the risks of such happening are very low ).
it's been 3 months. no reason for continued testing for herpes. hardly anyone takes 6 months to seroconvert.
My doctor just called to tell me that I need to repeat testing in three more months. I'm so exhausted from all of this. Everyone keeps telling me different things. They seem to think that I have it I just haven't developed the IgG yet.
Thoughts?
: D! i'm so glad i close that chapter. thank you for your quick response!
you are negative. congrats!
no reason for more testing.
grace
did you check her website for providers near you?
