My titer is 1.87

Hello.

I had bf who has herpers (from 2010)
He sometimes had vesicles in his penis
When He had vesicle, we had no sex.
And I was tested by EIA and got negative result in 2010
We broke up July 2011, so later we had no contact, but 1 May 2012 we met again and had sex.. just one time

I hane never had vesicle or other symptom in genital area, but I was worry, so got test 14 May.
And result is HSV 2 IgG 1.87 and HSV 2 PCR (using vaginal discharge) Negative
I just want to know I have herpes... Is it false positive or something?

Thanks :)

at this point you need to wait 3 months from the time you had sex with this partner and repeat your herpes igg blood test then. it was too early to know if this is a true positive or a false positive or not.

did you have vaginal symptoms that you also had a pcr done?

best approach is to wait for the 3 months mark, as grace said, and get tested again. avoiding sex with your new bf would be the right thing to do - better to confirm the diagnosis not to make things even more confusing.
