Possible Herpes scenario?

So last Thursday I had unprotected sex with someone I don't know (I know dumbest thing I could ever do). She was on her last day of her period (not sure if relevant)
Anyway about Sunday I felt some tenderness/pain on my right testicle. Also I noticed some sort of lesion or cut (as I I cut shaving) on the right side of my penis (middle of shaft). I didn't think much of it until about Wednesday I felt my lymph nodes in my groin area swollen and tender. I also started to feel burning while urinating. I got scared and finally went to go get checked on Friday. They did bloodwork and gave me medicine for any possible bacterial STD.

Here's the thing, I know of herpes sores looking puss filled or like a blister with fluid inside. I never saw that. I just noticed a cut-like lesion.

I called the girl I slept with and she told me about Monday she started having flu-like symptoms and fever of 104. She noticed 1 or 2 red bumps on the outside of her vagina. For her, it was not fluid filled or blister like. I'm not sure what I think and we both get our full std panel results next week on Friday. Is there anyone out there with knowledge that can possibly think of anything else other than herpes hat can cause this.
The type of bumps/lesions that we both have aren't typical herpes sores.
On top of both of us noticing radical symptoms few days AFTER sex.

at this point it's pretty much wait and see what the test results are. many things can cause these symptoms including of course herpes.

I'd call the clinic tuesday to see what test results are back.
