Possible herpes

I have been sick for 1+ week with a terrible UTI and vaginal yeast infection. I was seen last week and given oral antibiotics and oral yeast infection meds (one dose). On Thursday, I ended up at the ER because of the pain associated with urination. It felt like someone had a razor blade on my vuvla when I went to the bathroom. The ER doc changes my antibiotic and gave me vaginal cream to use for 7 days. As of yesterday, I still have extreme pain when I would pee. I went to my family doctor and she checked my urine again and I still have a bad UTI and yeast infection. She did notice a small bump where I was hurting when I urinated. She said that it was possibly herpes and did a swab test. she changed my antibiotic and gave me oral yeast meds (I took 2 yesterday and 1 a day for 5 more days) And also she gave me acyclovir in case it was herpes. Within  just a few hours last night, the pain upon urination was almost gone. It is completely gone today. I am just sore and have discomfort that feels like the UTI.

My question is, is this typical of herpes? The doctor has me completely stressed out.

Yes first time use does take some time  to heal but its more for keeping the virus from multiplying

I was thinking that would be the case. Would the acyclovir work that quickly? I'm hoping the massive dose of yeast meds is what is making me feel so much better and relieved the razor blade feeling I had when urinating. From everything I read acyclovir takes several days to take effect. I'm hoping the Dr is just being overly cautious.

Hi, only testing would confirm if this is a herpes sore but if its inside your urethra i would rule out herpes as that area is not common but more on the outside of the vaginal area. You might have a blood test if the swab comes back negative just as a back up but all your describing would be more a reaction to the uti and yeast. Do come back and let us know your swab results.
