I know mine. And i am clear. Have gotten cold sores since i was a child. But until recently i didnt realise what a cold sore was.. i feel quite ignorant actually! And i assumed that as soon as the sore was gone it wasnt contagious anymore. We had oral sex about 12 days after first symptom started and was pretty much gone by a 7 days. And protected sex. Hsv isnt tested here unless asked because its not part of a routine std test. So i know he is clean in all regards except i dnt know hsv status. I also only found out they didnt test hsv this week

this wasn't really a risk.

has your partner been tested for herpes to know his status?

Have you both been tested for hsv2 too?
