Red bump on penis

I have a red bump on my penis.  It started out about three weeks ago or so as a flesh colored bump.  It is a single bump and doesn't look like anything i have seen concerning herpes.  it is red now because I was messing with it all day yesterday.  It doesn't hurt, hasn't popped on it's own, and isn't in a cluster or anything like that.  the last time I had sex was six months ago...  I don't know what this could be.  please help

at this point the best thing you can do is to leave your hands off of it and go and be seen and get a proper diagnosis. A herpes ob lasting 3 weeks without changing isn't likely so odds are this is something else going on. You need a proper evaluation done - this isn't something you can self diagnose online.

an inital outbreak of herpes wouldn't happen after six months. If it is herpes (which it doesn't really sound like) then you would have had it already without noticing maybe. But for the most part, it sounds like a pimple or clogged pore or ingrown hair. See a doctor if it will make you feel better, who will test the spot for herpes and or take a blood test (which might not show anything that came about in the last 3 months) Have you had oral sex performed on you recentlY?
