Rash in groin fold, possibly herpes?

(I'm a 19 year old male) For the last day or two, I've had a rash develop in the crease between my inner thigh and my pelvic mound. It has gotten progressively redder and rawer-looking, but does not itch, tingle, burn, and is only a little uncomfortable when i touch it. I wouldn't have even noticed it if I hadn't seen it in the shower. After doing a bit of digging around, I've seen alot of similar posts that point to a yeast or general fungal infection. However, I wanted to get an outside opinion.
The rash follows the fold of the crease exactly, has no sores, and is not uncomfortable which is why i'm sceptical of herpes, but I'm still a bit nervous.
What do you think?

Does not sound like herpes to me.  Plus, you need to look at your history. Have you ever had a break out before.  If the answer is no, than this is your initial break out (meaning that another infected skin needed to rub up in that area). For example a penis rubbing there that is infected.  If this is not the case, it probably is just a simple rash.
