your partner needs to seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing to see what their status is. Once you know their status, you can determine if you need additional testing for herpes or not.
My partner has not been tested but neither of us have ever shown any symptoms other than the "fissure" that appeared right after sex. We have been together for 5 months and have not had any other sexual partners so I'm confused on why they would tell me I do have it. It's quite frustrating. What test do you suggest I get and where can I go to get it?
the herpes igm test is a very flawed test and shouldn't be used on adults.
your provider can not accurately tell you you have herpes based on a + igm. it's actually malpractice to do so.
