Received oral a month ago

Hi I am a male 18 years old and I received oral sex (he went down on me), as well as oral-anus sex (again him down on me) 5 weeks ago from another male who I didn't know.  Since then I've been crying on and off about stds and I'm mainly concerned about herpes.
I haven't had any symptoms (save a tiny rash which the doctor said was dry skin) and I got a full STD test last week which I have yet to find out the results for.
What is the likelihood I have herpes, considering I didn't see any sores around his mouth?
I can't eat and can't sleep due to the worry, and I know you're supposed to go 12 weeks after the encounter for an accurate herpes blood test so I can't do anything but wait.
Thanks!

Hi Medren, I am in the same situation as what you were earlier..

you said you found out you do have HSV1 orally--did you Contract that from the encounter and all those symptoms(frequent urination) you had belongs to HSV 1 Oral?

I am scared to death, please respond!

Hey Grace, a couple more things, sorry!
I've found out that I do have HSV1 orally, so there is nothing to worry about in that department, right?
And secondly, what are the chances of me getting HSV2 from maybe 15 seconds of genital contact (penis to penis)?  There wasn't really any focussed rubbing, as such, more touching.

yep - I'd stop worrying at this point.

Hey Grace!
It's been 8 weeks now and I've had no other symptoms corresponding to herpes (and I got the bump swabbed and looked at by a doctor and he said it was neither herpes nor genital warts).
Also I forgot to mention there was very brief genital-genital contact during my encounter (I saw no sores on his penis whatsoever, however).
You said that if I had contracted HSV1 genitally I would have had symptoms by now, so does this mean it's safe to say I do not have herpes?  The risk is very low, and this is all assuming he did have herpes (which he probably didn't), is this correct?
Thanks for all your help, I really would have gone crazy without your advice.

sounds like this is a hemorrhoid going on.

I am going tomorrow.  Upon further analysis I can see a bright red bump at the opening of my ahus attached to the lines going in towards the hole, and the segment of these lines attached to the bump is slightly swollen.  The bump slightly obstructs  the anal opening (this is all just inside the anus, I have to open wider than normally spreading my legs in order to see this).  Also the burning is present whenever I have a bowel movement for quite a while, but it soon fades, so is not constant.  Does this sound like herpes or haemorrhoids?  Does the fact I'm having symptoms almost 6 weeks in suggest anything about what it might be?  Also I did have very brief genital-genial contact during sex (though I'm sure I saw no lesions whatsoever).  Does this mean it could be HSV2?

I will take your advice and get the HPV shots.  Thanks so much for your help.

get the hpv shots now. you want them when you are as young as possible. since it takes 6 months to complete them, they are something you want to start now, not wait until you've found a new partner.

odds are this isn't herpes. go and be seen and have it looked at.

Hi everyone now 5 weeks and 4 days later I have noticed a burning feeling in my anus.  It is a light, bearable feeling but definitely noticeable, and it is not restricted to after a bowel movement (it has been coming and going).

Does this sound like herpes?  Thanks!

I had a test for gonorrhea/chlamydia 3 weeks after the encounter and another swab last week all of which came back negative.  I have not had HPV shots yet but was offered it when I first went to the GUM clinic (and I will get when I become sexually active again, but this will be far into the future and only with someone I trust).  Hopefully this isn't a problem that is STD related and I'm just overreacting.
I take it a single, dry, pinkish patch of skin on the side of the penis isn't a symptom of herpes from what I've read.  If so then my urinary frequency (it is in small volumes by the way) is the only symptom.
Thanks so much your advice (everyone who replied) it has really helped calm me down you do an amazing job here.

if you had contracted hsv1 genitally from this encounter, you would've had symptoms by now. really no reason to continue worrying about most std's from this encounter.

gonorrhea, chlamydia, hsv1, syphilis, ngu and hpv are your risks from this encounter.

since you are sexually active - have you had your gardasil shots for hpv yet? it's a 3 shot series.

always protect yourself and only have protected sexual contact!! not worth the risk or the worry from not doing so.

Hi and i found the below about your question:

H. Hunter Handsfield, M.D.

By itself, urinary frequency is not a symptom of herpes or any other STD but sometimes frequency occurs in combination with discharge or painful urination.  Also, frequency only counts as a sign of infection when it is urgent urination with small volumes.  Just peeing a lot, with substantial amounts of urine, isn't a symptom of any infection.

Thankyou!
Another question, is a frequent urge to urinate a sign of herpes?  Because I've been having this for the past 2 or so weeks.  Thanks!

Hi and welcome. This is the problem with unprotected sex, one just never knows. Even though oral sex is low risk, it does not mean no risk. Just try to relax and dont stress yourself out over this. If i had a million dollars to bet i would bet you dont have it without blinking an eye.
