Recurrence and harshness

Good afternoon Doc,

I've unfortunately been diagnosed with Genital Herpers more than 2 years ago.

Since my initial outbreak, which was quite weak (couple of cold sores clearing fast), i havent had an outbreak in more than 2 years.

My current outbreak (1st since initial outbreak), is more harsh. Althou no excrutiating pain is felt, it has been lasting for about 5 days.

On my initial outbreak, i did not take any medicine to help healing. This time i opted for Valtrex for 5 days, twice a day as recommended.

My situation is getting better.

What i would like to know is since it has been quite some time since my first outbreak, and that recurrent outbreaks are usually said to occur in most cases, in the first year after the initial outbreak, am i to expect more regular outbreaks now, or will they still be quite spaced out?

Is it normal my current outbreak is more harsh that the initial one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much Doc.

Bliss
