Relief and healing of primary outbreak

Hi - my doctor was completely incompetent and whilst he thought I have herpes , he also thought I have thrush. He gave me a pessary and cream (I've stopped using the cream) and the pessary is just very painful because it's obviously coming out (horrid sorry). Anyway , two blisters appeared on Thursday morning - escalated to many by Friday in a cluster at the opening of my vagina and also one just below my clit to the left. I was prescribe aciclovir by midday and started it immediately. I can already feel it's made me feel better - I can sit down and walk with relative ease. However , what can I do to help the healing? And will they all be gone by the time I finish the five day course? What do I do if not - more medication? Two more have appeared unfortunately but only small. I'm going away with my boyfriend for a week tomorrow , back for 5 days then away for two weeks again - it'll be so **** if I can't have sex the whole time.

Oh maybe they're not blisters - I couldn't pop them , they're more like ulcers and always have been.

I can't sleep - whenever I settle down there's a sudden stinging and I jolt back up. This is horrible - just finished second day of the antivirals but there's been no change to the appearance just a very slight reduction in pain. In fact , another sore has appeared on the outside of my labia now - on the kind of crease part where my leg meets my pelvis. When will this pain end I can't handle this

It is more important to get a diagnosis.

You have sores so insist on a swab immediately that is assessed using PCR, this will tell you which type you have.

If it is herpes then you have been infected 2-10 days before the sores appeared. Your boyfriend is hence the source? You should request that he test to understand his status. All implications need to be discussed.
