Retest question

I was recently (2 weeks ago) tested for HSV--

Results:
HSV 1 1.22    Positive
HSV 2 <0.91  Negative

I have had no symptoms (or OB) and had been abstinent over 2.5 years.   Does this warrant a retest for HSV I,  since it does fall into the gray area?

If you have HSV1, and it is more likely to do so than not, then most likely this is an oral infection from your youth. A retest will very likely result in a similar outcome.

If you are really keen to determine whether you have a HSV1 infection, then seek a Westernblot. My view though is simply forget about it and enjoy your relationships, mutually tested of course. If you happen to have it then you have great protection from a genital HSV1 infection.
