Scrotal Herpes?

For the past 6 months I have been getting really bad itchy flaky skin on my scrotum that cracks and is red.  Of course, I scratch it a lot so maybe that doesn't help.  **By the way, I do shave and keep it bald down there.

However, 2 days ago I noticed a lump forming under the skin of the scrotum.  Today it is the size of maybe a pea if I pull up and separate it.  It is definitely part of the outer skin.  It looks pearlescent under the skin slightly but there is no "head" to it and it doesn't really hurt unless squeezed.

What ya think?

nothing you've mentioned changes my opinion from what I already posted.

let us know how your appointment goes. I assume it's with an urologist?

Stupid.. can't find the reply button so repost.  Anyways, it looks like the lump has a white top on it now but I think it might just be the hair follicle all plugged up on top of it.  It still doesn't really hurt to touch and the mass is very dense with the skin tight.  Has stayed the same size for 2days.  I live abroad so I am going to go see a "wang" doctor and see what he says.

Down the center line of the scrotum the skin is in white patches and is dry and itchy as mentioned below.  I used anti-itch creme and I think the cracks have gone away.  Again, what ya think?  Appreciate the responses.

this is more likely a fungal infection and not herpes. see your provider for a proper exam.
