Should I go for further testing

I had what appeared to be small red bumps on my penis almost 3 months ago. I did an STD test, all neg except Herpes. Saw 3 doctors and a Dermatologist, 4 confirmed that the red bumps is not an STD but Eczema. Should I go for the Herpes diff. test, or can I assume that I have Herpes 1, and move on. The Ezcemais still there, another unlikely symptom of Herpes.

Over 60% of adults have hsv1 orally but only 20-40% of them ever get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected.   You could've gotten hsv1 at any point in your life up until when you were tested.

The non specific test was part of the other STD tests I took. As for finding traces of Herpes. I dated an a girl for over 4 years who had Herpes Type 1 and would get period cold sores. Could she have giving this to me even though: a. I can't remember ever getting any cold sores b. I have never had any real Herpes Symptoms ?

So you had a non-type specific herpes blood test then so far? It's really a waste of time and money to have a non-type specific test done. www.herpesdiagnosis.com has more info on how to get properly tested for herpes.

If you've had bumps for 3 months and they haven't gone away periodically then it's not herpes.  Doesn't mean you don't also have herpes - it just means this isn't a symptom of herpes.

I noticed red bumps and irritated skin on the base of my penus head. I went to walk in clinic to get it examined. Doctor examined and advised it was not herpes ob. Did full STD test, test found Herpes Antibodies in Blood (Advised that this was common). Two other doctors examined bumps, concluded no Herpes, finally Dermatologist examined, advised 110 % not Herpes. Have had the bumps for almost 3 months now. They closed the file, no STD. Can I move on or should I continue to get more tests ?

when you say all was negative except herpes - does that mean that yes you were tested for herpes?  If so how were you tested?

On the expert side of this website, 3-4 months is pretty accurate about 90% of the time.

I have had the same symptoms 3 days after unprotected sex and went to the derm 4 times since I was so paranoid I could not think straight.  The Dr. told me it was not herpes each time, it was dermatitis or eczema.  The pimples red spots reappeared on different spots all over my penis and scrotom over 5 weeks.

I would love to believe this was the case but if you read symptoms from all the reputable websites they say herpes can present itself in so many different ways and the blisters are not always typical, can be pimples, and sort of lesions etc.

I would get the HerpeSelect test just to be sure.  I have to wait another 5 weeks.
