Single Red bump in Pubic area

Good Morning.

Last monday I had a small single red patch in my pubic area. This patch did not hurt or burn. The only time i would feel it is if I squeezed it together(thinking it was a cyst) I did this for two days (really hard) with no such luck. The third day it seemed like a little clear liquid came out although there are not blisters. The patch did open a little bit and has since scabbed over. Been scabbed over since thursday morning. I would go visit a health provider but all the STD clinics were booked out the whole week last week. This bump has not hurt or itched.( I think when it does it is my anxiety) My question is does this sound like herpes. I have been tested in the past and have been negative for HSV 2. Now my exposure.

I have two different episodes with protected vaginal sex. First episode happened with a friend of mine in which I used a condom and also was wearing long pajama pants to cover skin to skin contact. This happened 5 weeks before the bump appeared. the second episode happened with a girl I am currently dating on last Sunday morning at 3 am (approx)  and then I noticed the bump on monday at like 3 pm (approx 36 - 40 hours after exposure) This encounter involved protected vaginal with no boxer shorts etc.  I did have a bad spout of cold sores this past 5 month so my doctor gave me acyclovir. My cold sores do hurt. The scab in my genital area does not flake like my cold sores do. It more less just gets smaller.  I take acyclovir as a daily suppressant. I am wondering if what I am describing as a chance of herpes? If I am on dailly acyclovir does that help me with resistant of HSV2 infection?  Keep in mind I do have a high anxiety of herpes and HIV. What would be the next step since my sore is almost healed? If it is herpes what are the chances I received this from the friend 5 weeks ago or the girl im dating last week. Thank you

Thank you for your time.

Yes, I think it is if indeed all of that was done.  Not all STD screens include all of these things.

Hi Terri,

Update I talked to the girl that I had a realtions with 5 weeks before the bump and she had an STD test done in september (I was the last one that she had sex with) and it all came back negative for herpes chamydia, gonnerea etc. Is this fair enough information to rule her out?
Thanks

It is so difficult to say anything about whether you might have genital herpes by your description.  The fact that you had clear fluid coming from this red area and the fact that it scabbed over is a bit worrisome.  However, it also sounds like you were pretty aggressive with the skin, so you might have caused this damage yourself, just no way to know.

The fact that you have a an established history of cold sores and also take acyclovir daily would mean that if you did acquire genital herpes, it would likely be mild in is presentation.

One of the best ways to sort this out would be to ask the two women to have herpes testing done.  If they are both negative for HSV 2, then you can likely rule out HSV 2 infection since you have previously been tested and were found to be negative, right?  If you are going to request testing, I would do it with the utmost tact and would certainly offer to pay for that testing.  Since you are taking acyclovir daily and have a history of cold sores, it would be a while before doing your own testing would yield an accurate result.

Looking back over your description of the skin abnormality again, I just can't make any relevant recommendations about what it is.  Sorry!
