blood testing prior to marriage has never included herpes testing. odds are neither of you have ever been tested for herpes prior to this.
actually no reason at all to question fidelity in this situation. it's as much about bad luck as anything when hsv1 is transmitted to the genital area through oral sex.
thank you both for your input, i truly appreciate it.
while i have accepted the fact that I was the probable culprit, i find it almost incredible and very ironic, for the follwoing reasons:
you have to admit 30+ years for the virus to remain d0rmant is a hell of a long time. wht are the odds?
my wife and i had made love thousands of times in the interim and not evn a hint of an infection.
we both had the mandatory blood tests done prior to marriage; both came back negative.
my wife has never questioned my recnt faithfulness, in spite of the hard to believe 30 year dormancy.
i must have been one of the least sexually experienced young adult while in my teens and early twenties
Grace,
Youa ask if I remember having a cold sore. No, but I do remember a couple of big white head pimple i the corner of my mouth.
as far as the uti, not that I recall.
Actually bactrim is prescribed for many things. did she by chance have symptoms of an uti at the same time as her herpes symptoms or any other infection?
there is no reason for you to be treated for herpes. Your hsv1 has been there since before you met your wife and it's not an issue. Treating herpes just makes lesions heal faster which isn't something you need. Odds are you transmitted an oral hsv1 infection to your wife through oral sex. Can you recall ever having had a cold sore ever?
it's easiest for us if you just keep adding questions to your original post. that way your whole "story" is there for us to review before commenting. thank you for your future cooperation with this and just keep adding to this post now.
keep asking questions as you think of them!!

that is not used to treat vaginal chlamydia but inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye which can be caused by chlamydia or other things... this medicine is used for urinary tract infections as well which would be the most common reason your wife may have it... zithromax is a medication used for chlamydia infections.
If your wife had chlamydia she would need to tell you so that you could be tested and treated as well.
More than half of the population has HSV1 born with it, you could have had it as a child or contracted before your wife and only shedded the virus but never had an actual blister. you don't need to have a blister to have HSV. It is clear that you are infected with it according to your blood test and unless you have any reason to feel your wife is cheating on you I would try to relax and comfort your wife.
