If it is herpes, it may be too late for a swab test to happen. I would recommend that you try to get a swab test, but if it is negative, it may not be correct as the time lapse between first noticing it and now is so long. If it is negative, I would recommend an antibody test, type specific, for you and if you are negative for HSV 2, for your boyfriend. Let me know how it goes tomorrow.

It's been 9 days now and is just the one spot. I'm worried because I can't get in to see a doctor till Monday.
If you have ever had a cold sore in your life (usually HSV 1), it makes it very unlikely that you would acquire this same virus genitally, which is good. How long as the sore been present now?
Terri
I've had cold sores but haven't had one in a very long time. My partner does not as well. However he has been giving oral more intensely with no present sores etc.
Trying to schedule an appointment for Monday.
Thank you.
So I was able to view the pictures, and yes, this is very concerning for possible herpes. Please - go now and have it swab tested. And let me know how that goes, OK?
Terri
Two circular lesions near the vagina accompanied by some pain with urination are indeed concerning. Have you been able to have anyone take a look at these for you? If you can, please go in somewhere and have them swab tested. If they decide it looks enough like herpes to swab test for that, please ask that they order PCR, not culture. Far more sensitive.
Have you ever had a cold sore in your life? How about your partner? Is he the giver of oral sex to you?
Terri
Mrs. Warren,
I have been able to navigate through this site and my profile to add two pictures. One was within days the next was this morning day eight.
I am curious because this is not a normal feeling from a dryness involved fissure/ tear.
Generally, when seeing info many other conditions, symptoms, lesions are visual. This doesn't appear to be associated in that category; yet I'm still concerned.
Your view and opinion would be greatly appreciated.
